We are friends

RENAUD-PHOTO

Born in 1985, Renaud Cambuzat is a French fashion photographer based in Paris, currently member of the « Heima » artist residency. As a kid, he traveled the world on a sailing boat with his parents, a strong experience that gave him a real love for beauty and other people’s lives. In 2013, after 5 years working in the film industry, he decided to focus on his passion for images as a photographer.

In his project « We are friends », he tried to understand the meaning of the friendship he shares with those who are close to him and to answer this question : must we break through the intimacy of our friends to consider them as such ? Working through a very specific process with each of them, he tried to get closer to them with his camera. These photos are dyptichs, consisting of one moment of joy and one moment of sadness. Two sides of the same coin, which in truth we only rarely see, even with our close ones. These portraits are portraits of his friends. But they are especially portraits of normal people. And they could very well be portraits of you.
